Back in Tucson

After two and a half months on the road visiting our wonderful family, friends, and ministry partners, we finally are getting settled back into our Tucson home. We are working to get into a new routine after two years of a very structured schedule. We are still finding we need our “siesta” each day, which was a necessary routine in Chad. Guess our age is telling on us. Its been great to meet up with some of our friends and prayer partners in Tucson. If you haven’t heard from us...you will. But you don’t have to wait for us. Our number is below.

Memorial weekend we helped some good friends in Tucson unload their storage unit for another move in their lives. They are our age and boy it gets harder every time.

This last weekend we did the same thing by unloading our storage unit which Jim made at the back of our garage. It was only 105 that day. Thankfully Jordan had previously installed an AC vent to keep it cooler in there.  Once unloaded, Jim began building shelves up high to store long term items, and I began returning items to their designated rooms, closets, cupboards and also boxes for sale. Yes, we will have a sale in the near future; something we should have had before we left for Chad but were too busy finishing the house to be rented while away.

This weekend we are helping support “Tiny Bikes Big Change” http://www.tinybikesbigchange.org/ a non-profit event that supports “Blood Water Ministries”, http://www.bloodwater.org/ building wells and HIV clinics in Africa. Our colleague’s son is running this event. He and others will be riding “Tiny Bikes”, 100 cc or less, from Parker on the border of California to the eastern border town of Springerville, AZ, basically through the mountains. Jim and I are going along for support. It will be a good test run for another bike event he and the same colleague are working on to support literacy and motorcycles in Africa, maybe in the fall of 2014. More info on that in a future letter.

For those of you in California we will be heading there in June. Here is our schedule so far.  (Something to deviate from )

June 19-27, Escondido area
June 28-30 Redondo Beach area
July 1-3 Escondido.

We look forward to seeing you and catching up after so long. We will try to connect by phone if we have your number, email, or FB...but please give us a call if you don’t hear from us soon.

We thank God in all our remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in our every prayer for you all, because of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.

We pray that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment...to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:3,4,5,9 & 11b.
