This weekend we celebrate something no other religion came claim: Our God and Savior lives! Not only did He rise from the dead, conquering death, but He lives in our hearts. Amazing love, that He would do that for us. We hope that this weekend and everyday you will be encouraged by that truth.
Since our last update, lots has happened.
Judy continues to have laryngitis and after several Dr. visits found out she had lacerations/ulcerations on her vocal cords. So she has been mostly silent now for 6 weeks. The last round of steroids made her very depressed and feeling very yucky. Thankfully they are done and she is feeling much better, but not much voice yet. Please pray that it will heal and her voice will return. She will be doing some speech therapy in the following weeks.
God has opened a door to purchase a foreclosed house in our neighborhood. It is small, 1,000 sq ft, but the price is something we can afford. We have been in negotiations for a few weeks now and should close this next week, April 26. There are requirements by the loan company to replace some walls that were altered or removed, it needs an ac unit installed and some roof damage repaired before we can move in the end of May. If you have time and want to come help Jim could use extra hands. Judy will be focusing on packing and cleaning their present residence.
Jim’s snowbird volunteers have all returned to their northern homes. He is grateful for all the man hours they put in and the bigger jobs they did for the retirement center. He just returned from meetings in Dallas with the managers from the other facilities and his bosses. Pray that his apartments can get filled. There are 7 vacant ones right now.
Judy hasn’t been able to work as much because of the virus and laryngitis, but that hasn’t stopped the steady flow of inquires coming in. Praise God!
Some of have asked about Martha Depp, Caleb’s sister. She was an amazing gal through the battle with cancer. She moved very peacefully to her heavenly home March 24. He brother did a great video of her back in September which you can view on her facebook. You can still view and purchase some of her paintings at http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarthaDepp?ref=pr_shop_more.
Speaking of the Depp’s, Jody and Violette will be arriving April 27th and staying until the 10th. Caleb may try to come out later. He is studying to take entrance exam for grad school.
Josh will be graduating in May. Praise God for helping him through this last year of university. ( Hopes to come for a visit too)
Jordan didn’t get on a “hot shot” crew, but he did get a job, part time, with a fire department in South East AZ, Pearce/Sunsites. He is learning lots. He got to do a house fire last week which was a great opportunity.
